"It's going to extend my career a couple more years because the pounding you take on your knees, on your shoulders, hips . . . it's going to make every one feel better and give us old guys a chance to keep playing. The biggest thing I noticed was the recovery time between games. On hard turf, it takes a couple days for your knees, your joints to get back to normal so you can start practising. On this stuff, you feel so much better the next day. It's a lot more fun when you don't have to worry about the conditions," said Brian Clark, the fourth-year Calgary Stampeders linebacker.

"Obviously, it's cost-effective to bring in the new turf for injuries alone. On top of that, we were one of only two teams (Saskatchewan) left with the old turf and it was becoming a recruiting issue where players saw our field as restrictive to their careers. We also wanted to see the stadium become a little more professional in nature.
"That's the big secret," smiled Hellard. "It's a patented process and only they know the formula."
- Ted Hellard, Part-Owner
“Oh, it’s great. It looks like a real professional stadium now. It takes away the turf burns, the slides are a lot softer and that’s what a player wants. A guy never likes playing on that hard turf. It feels likes bricks under there.”

"This new surface (FieldTurf) may have saved him (Defensive Back Jermaine Chapman) from possibly a season-ending (injury) or at least nine games," Higgins said.
